Common Application Essay Evaluation

Service Description

This one-hour session held over Zoom is designed for students who have *already* completed the 650-word Common Application Essay and would like to receive feedback. This includes: * A full reading of the essay out loud during the session (with the text shared between us over Google Docs) * A thorough discussion of the student’s vision for the essay as it relates to their academic profile (how they strategically plan to present themselves and their story to colleges) * Evaluating and identifying the essays strengths and weaknesses, and working with the student to create an outline and strategy for strengthening the essay * As many margin comments/suggested edits as the hour will allow *Please note, this one-time session is working with what the student has *already* written. It is therefore limited to the pre-existing writing and does not allow time for a full re-drafting of the essay. If that is suggested, individual sessions can be booked separately. Some students may not require further edits; this is entirely dependent on the quality of the essay going into the session.
